Starting January 1st, I will release a new tattoo design catalog. In celebration of this new art series, I will gift a watercolor painting to the first clients who book a design. Paintings will also be available to purchase. Booking is first come, first served via email. This is tattoo flash, which means I can repeat the designs on an unlimited number of clients. All flash can be tattooed in color or black and grey. These designs will be available the entire year of 2026. I will post the first design January 1st at noon, and a new design each subsequent day into the new year. Please message me with any questions. . . . . . #tattoodesigns #chicagotattooartist #botanicaltattoo
Sequoia trees first appeared during the Jurassic period. These trees are the most resilient plants on earth due to their ability to foster lasting community within a forest. Sequoia grow intertwining their roots, creating an expansive root mat to protect one another against intense winds. This collaboration allows the trees to reach heights exceeding 350ft. Healthy trees will send nutrition their young. They will also send life saving nutrition to other trees in their community that are suffering illness or trauma. Mature trees, when mortally wounded, send their remaining nutrients to their offspring. Once dead, the fallen tree creates mulch and shelter for other plants and animals in the forest. This provides nutrition and protection to their descendants and the animals that help maintain a healthy ecosystem. Sequoia have developed a perfect cycle of community and sustainability. Learn from our trees. Respect our elders. . . . . . #redwood #sequoia #forest #botanicalillustration #botanicaltattoo
“Bloomy” the iconic lakeside daisy of Chicago’s Big Marsh Park. In 2011, the Chicago Park District began efforts to clean up industrial dumping grounds on the south side of the city. Once rich marshlands, this area was contaminated with decades of toxic pollution from nearby factories and posed a threat to the health of nearby communities. Conservationists decided to select plants that could revitalize and clean up the land. Lakeside daisies had been absent from the Midwest for decades due to urban development, and it was unclear whether conservation efforts could revitalize their presence in Illinois. Grown from seed by @chicagobotanic a single daisy survived the conservationists’ first attempt at growing native plants in the harsh conditions of the dumping grounds. This sole survivor led the way in helping to revitalize the land, and now stands as a symbol of the resilience of nature. Native plants do more than just beautify the city. Their deep root systems filter toxic materials from the ground/water, and their blooms sustain important pollinators, birds, and small animals. Plants give us the ability to reverse centuries of damage to our ecosystems. Even the smallest life forms can have a massive impact on the future of our planet. #nativeplants #chicagobotanicgarden #conservation
Stinging nettle and sword fern for Gigi. Nettle, healed. Stinging nettle has a defense mechanism in which it releases irritating chemicals when touched. Sword fern is an antidote for a stinging nettle rash. Simply rub a leaf, spore side down, across the skin irritation. . . . . . #ferntattoo #stingingnettle #chicagotattooartist #botanicaltattoo #finelinetattoo
