Final session on this full back beast 🖤🔥
This piece has been in the works since October of last year. Between studio changes, wedding planning, and life doing its thing, it’s incredible to finally see it come together in full. Four full-day sessions, countless hours of precision, and a clear plan from day one (with a few fun detours along the way).
The concept is based on artwork by @micah_ulrich — a phenomenal artist whose work we licensed directly through shop.micahulrich.com (Order #12534). We corresponded with Micah and secured full permission to tattoo this design. From there, I made custom adjustments to enhance the flow on her back and make it truly hers.
This was nearly a blank canvas — aside from a small piece on the shoulder that we carefully worked into the layout. On the final session, we added a few more elements to push the piece into balance and build even more presence. Every decision was intentional, and every mark added to the larger story. 🩸💀
Massive thanks to Ani for her trust, grit, and patience throughout this journey. Sitting through four full sessions for a back piece like this is no small feat. Watching this come to life — layer by layer — has been such a rewarding process. 🖤
Seeing it fully healed will be a moment. For now, this is the final shot until we meet again for that healed-up photo session.
