For those of you who don’t know me, let me introduce myself. My name is Emma and I’m a lifelong artist. I was born in Toronto, Canada and grew up traveling with my family all across the United States, eventually landing in Montclair, NJ. I started drawing at a very young age and went on to study fine art in all levels of school, finishing with a Bachelor’s Degree from Brandeis University in Painting and Sculpture. After college I embarked on an epic adventure across India and then made my way to Istanbul, Turkey, where I began apprenticing as a tattoo artist. This was a conscious choice after spending some time interning with well-known painters in Brooklyn and becoming somewhat disillusioned with the Fine Art world and it’s insiders-only attitude. I decided Tattooing would give me the flexibility to create art independently while also honing my skills and exploring the unique challenges and rewards of one of the world’s oldest art forms.
