I actually had kind of a hell of a year. Slides narration is as follows:
-Heres my normal boring tattoo artist new year compilation, no one cares, okay lets move on
- cover: there and back again the story of my year (it was more complicated than that
- moved out of this ginormous house (too big for anyone sane) in CO and made the call to shut down my home studio. Many reasons for that. Lots of them financial. Very bittersweet
- moved (kind of) to Eau Claire WI and lived in hotels and airbnbs for like 2 months til i found this tiny quaint apartment to settle into
- thought i might work in this local tattoo shop but realized quickly it was not a great fit and decided to look elsewhere
- winter finally ended and I fell back in love with WI and came to think of it as The Shire. Ferns, moss, fireflies and green everywhere. Reminding me of my childhood there.
- filled my new place with plants, witchiness and coziness, making it a small but lovely little home
- decided to start a new shop downtown with the same values as my last one and the same name but more ability to create an artist community and hopefully a safe space for all the “others” of Eau Claire to be tattooed
- lots of travels and community time! So much family time (they dont live in CO). Went to NYC, Vegas, Cali, Coppenhagen and drove across the country about 5 times. And got to see a friend get married.
-had a mouse problem that led me to want a pet mouse that my dog fell in love with that later died
- had some relationship ups and downs
- did a LOoot of witchcraft
- had this chonky-headed peanutbutterpaw cinnamon-ear goober along with me the whole way
- here is my shop in eau claire all filled out and now training up some more artists to tattoo there!
-and finally some random me pictures so you can see how much of a goober I am too.
OH edited to add- I then came back to CO for the winter and have been really enjoying being at @nest.art.co with all the Nesties and seeing my CO clients again!
Happy new year witches. Thanks for all your support through my life adventures and crazy decisions. May this year bring more adventure, growth and community building!
