Throwback at this fun photo shoot force magazine article, at the first Miss Lore Tattoos location, photo by the talented @brianjdelumpa
This year has been the hardest, not only for myself but for many others. Financially I've been struggling to keep up as 2024 became my slowest year to date, and the depression due to the current state of the US has prevented me from stepping up in terms of promoting myself online or working on flash in the hopes of attracting more clients. I'm at a loss.
This year I also hit the milestone of being a tattoo artist mostly consistently for ten years. I've never done anything in my life for that long, and although at times it's been stressful and difficult and I'm not where I want to be in terms of my ability (I'm my worst critic, but also I know there is always room for improvement) I'm also so grateful for the journey that it has been.
In 10 years I've:
* 'Made amazing clients, many who still remain my friends. I'm not exaggerating when I say I have the best clients a girl could ever ask for.
*Become financially independent and worked for myself and on my own schedule
*created an organization that donates tattoos for women who had breast cancer, and done reconstructive tattoos
* been interviewing on national TV in Mexico
*appeared in magazines in both Mexico and the US
* apprenticed under the legend Shanghai skate
* opened my first tattoo shop, and then a second one in Hyde Park (come visit us!)
*traveled to other cities and countries to tattoo, I hope to do more of this
Ten years or carrying your stories, sharing your love, your pain, your successes and loses. I'm so lucky and privileged to have had this opportunity as long as I did, and I hope it's something I'm still able to carry on doing for a bit longer. The money does help, but mostly for the people.
Love,
Diana Lorena
