Among Pueblo peoples, Coyote carries hunting medicine and ancestral significance. Zuni hunters honored Coyote through stone effigies associated with the west and the color blue. Coyote also lives on through clan lineages, including the Cahuilla, Mohave, Hopi (Isngyam/Ish-wungwa), and Zuni (Suski-kwe), as well as other Pueblo nations of the Southwest. Some tribes, such as the Pomo, honored Coyote through ceremonial dance.
