Lessons from the Luna moth. Nurture when possible. Death is a part of it. Hope for the best. And when it is time to turn to goo, turn inward and trust your transformation 💚 I was gifted 16 tiny Luna moth eggs that hatched at the end of July. They grew from the size of a grain of rice to the size of my pinky in about 3.5 weeks. Half of them died in the process: some early on and some in their last phase of molting. I loved taking care of them and watching them grow. Eight successfully cocooned, and two of those prematurely hatched. The rest are tucked away in a cool climate until the Luna moths hopefully hatch in the spring! We’ll see. 🤞🏼 The vision is to release them in a local forest. It was a journey to care for these little ones—a journey full of wonder, a little stress, and infinite awe. I’m grateful for the experience.
